Relaxation Massage, otherwise known as Swedish Massage combined with therapeutic massage is a great antidote for stress and muscle tension.
Using traditional massage techniques, effleurage, pettrisage and tapotement, the therapist elicits a 'relaxation response' by manipulating soft body tissue and calming the nervous system through many skin receptors.
Once in this parasympathetic or 'rest & digest' state, the body can carry out its restorative functions such as digestion, reproduction, metabolism and waste elimination more efficiently. All you need to do is breathe and enjoy the experience.
Once your massage is over, float from the table, rehydrate with a couple of glasses of water and relax for the rest of your day or evening.
